candidates for supervisors

Wow, I just read your statement, and you are so right! I live in the district that gets to choose between Allen Ishida who is on the board now, and Guy Christian who works in the DA's office.
Both of the candidates had the opportunity to speak to the union that represents county employees and it was sort of scary.
Allen Ishida was asked how he can justify his 15% raise when many county employees have their children on Healthy Families insurance (welfare, basically) and receive food stamps. He actually made a joke about Walmart giving directions to the local welfare building, and instructions on how to appy for welfare benefits while they work for WalMart, and said something about doing that in new employee orientation for county! He even fumbled about not knowing he got a raise! Yeah, he owns some big citrus farm spread, and gets 7,100.00 dollars a month for his part time job as a county supervisor! I think that anybody who is being paid seven thousand dollars a month for a part time job should take that job more seriously.
I have an idea: Tulare County Board of Supervisors gets 2,500.00 a month, and the rest of that pay goes to more sheriffs.
Seriously folks, our county supervisors are among the top five highest paid in the state, and only one county pays less than Tulare County to employees.
So, even though Guy Christian is soft spoken, and doesn't make a strong case for himself, remember that he cares about County's employees, and wants the Board to be responsible for its' choices.
Ishida only wants the big pay, and to hell with the little guy who works for him.
When you vote, vote for the Christian, Guy - not the rich incumbent whe finds it funny that mothers working for his welfare department, are on welfare themselves.

when many county employees
