Tulare County Board of Supervisors
From Tulare south voters have a choice between two new comers for the board. One is Pete Van Der Poel, and the other is Patrick Isherwood. Pete is a recent college graduate who went to work in a bank, and his claim to fame is graduating Magna Cum Laude. He has no experience serving on any boards or committees. Patrick, on the other hand, has experience on multiple boards and committees. He's ben serving Tulare for some time already. Patrick is also a Tulare County employee; an administrative aide in Probation. He is aware of the waste and inefficiencies in the way this county is run by the board, and as a member of the Supervising Board, wants to hold the Board accountable to the people of Tulare County. I can say all this because I have heard both candidates speak. When it comes to Van Der Poel - that's all he says. He talks in cicrcles, and never directly answers any question put to him. He does frequently refer to his "vision for Tulare County", but when asked directly what that vision was he again spun words prettily without actually saying what that vision is. I get the feeling that his vision of our county is that of a stepping stone to bigger and better political seats. He's a politician. We need someone on the board who is committed to our county and understands the needs of the people who live here, and who work here. That's Isherwood. Do your research. Go to both of their websites, and see if you don't agree that Mr. Isherwood is here for the long run, and wants real change for the better. No offense Mr. Van Der Poel, but your message is the same old same old. Patrick Isherwood is truly a fresh voice for Tulare County.
